Once you land in the airport of Kathmandu, complete the airport formalities and come out of the airport. One of our representatives will meet you there. He will welcome you in a traditional Nepalese style with a fresh garland and a humble Namaste. Then, through the winding alleys of Kathmandu, he will accompany you to your hotel. Freshen up and take rest. About an hour later, your sightseeing guide will meet you there to discuss trip information with you.
Then, you both will leave for a half-day sightseeing tour. First, visit the classic Kathmandu Durbar Square, an ancient royal palace of Malla Kings. There are over dozens of Pagoda styled temples and sculptures to see. After that, visit the Boudhanath Stupa. With its gigantic Mandala and 13-tiered golden spire, Boudhanath boasts to be the largest unique structure stupas in the world. Finally, rise to the hilltop of Swayambhunath Stupa. Its architecture is worth seeing, but above that, the wonderful golden sunset views from the Stupa have more appealing elements.
Then, return to your hotel.
The distance between Kathmandu and Pokhara is about 200 km only. But, it takes over 7 hours to reach there by Jeep or Bus. Much of this delay is caused by the narrow winding highways that turn rough and bumpy at some point. Plus, occasional traffic jams are unavoidable.
In spite of that, the lush valleys and raging rivers of Trishuli make the journey worth going slow. Some of the exquisite traditional Nepali Houses, typically red with thatched roofs, could be seen on the way. This drive is worth undertaking.
After having morning breakfast, leave your hotel for sightseeing around Pokhara. First, pay a visit to the Phewa Lake, overlooking the gorgeous peaks of Machhapuchre and Annapurna range. Then, head towards the mountain museum. The memories of historical mountain events such as the climbing gears of the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary are still preserved inside this museum. After that, the Barahi Temple of the Pokhara is a not-to-miss site because of its aesthetic sculptures and the window carvings. Davis fall is just a few kilometers away from there. Witness the raging water of the Davis fall, falling from the never-ending cliff. You may as well go to see the World Peace Stupa, sitting on top of the hill.
From Pokhara, catch a short but scenic drive to the wonderful historical city of Bandipur. Bandipur is famous for its ancient outlook, garnished by the centuries-old Newari architectures. The designs of the houses are classic in appearance and the road is well paved by the stone slabs. The ancient temple of Khadga Devi, old Siddha Gufa, and the Padma Library are the few unavoidable places to visit in Bandipur.
After sightseeing, explore the village alleys to experience the classic charm of the historical Bandipur
Finally, the time has come to return to Kathmandu. By the time you reach there, it would have been late afternoon. Take rest for a while and head out for sightseeing around the markets of Thamel. The souvenir vendors and stalls are worthy of seeing. Later, return to your hotel in Kathmandu.
